Is climate change real?
A. Yes. Most definitely yes.
Why is colorectal administration of probiotics necessary?
A. The combination of colorectal and oral probiotics is necessary to change the long-term balance of the gut biome. Oral probiotics alone can’t do that.
Oral probiotics have to travel ~8 meters through your digestive system and survive stomach acid, bile and other gastric juices along the way. Few probiotics make it to the gut alive.
The ones that do survive definitely have a positive impact! Even a few bacteria passing through your system can produce valuable nutrients and have a positive immune impact that reduces inflammation. But they aren't powerful enough to stay in your gut, and therefore do little to affect the long-term balance of your gut biome.
Probiotics applied directly to the colon, on the other hand, have a much shorter and less hostile journey. It is only 10 centimeters from your bum to your large intestine, where 70-90% of your gut biome resides.
It’s much easier to take (and sell you) a bottle of pills. But the oral probiotics currently on the market simply aren't effective for the goal of balancing the gut biome long-term.
Why include an oral stage at all?
A. While 70-90% of the gut biome is in the lower large intestine, probiotics have beneficial effects higher up the gastrointestinal tract as well. The epithelial cells in the small intestine also have bacterial communities embedded in their mucosal lining and benefit from the immune effects of probiotics as well.
Colonization of the gut biome is a numbers game. The greater the quantity of good bacteria, the higher the likelihood they’ll be able to dislodge the bad bacteria in the mucosal lining of the intestine and make a permanent home there. That is why biotikur kits administer high amounts of both colorectal and oral probiotics in a short period of time.
Why do I need to wait so long?
A. We want to make sure everyone has an amazing experience with their biotikur. It’s important to us to provide an excellent, proactive customer experience and be available for any questions, concerns and guidance required.
biotikur kits are also manufactured shortly after each order so they are limited in supply in order to maintain the level of product quality required.
I can’t afford biotikur. Is there anything I can do?
A. Yes! We offer discounted and donated kits to individuals with demonstrated financial need. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org titled “Financial need.”
